Two centres of change
In 1917 new authorities formed at the Nikolayevsky works and in Bratsk district. Factory and farming communities had different daily concerns. The works was nationalised in early 1918 as soviet institutions took shape, but administrative decisions did not establish lasting territorial control.
War along the road
Partisans and Kolchak’s forces operated along the Bratsk road in summer and autumn 1919. Nikolai Burlov’s unit occupies a prominent place in local accounts. Roads, villages and the works became military positions, placing civilians within the conflict. Soviet sources’ evaluative labels are distinguished here from the events they describe.
December without false precision
The partisan takeover of Bratsk belongs to December 1919. Publications disagree on the exact day, so the timeline does not select one without further documentary verification. In the early 1920s, supplies and livelihoods returned to the foreground: cooperatives, seed loans and rebuilding everyday connections.
