The place and its history
Sukhoi developed as a timber-transfer base moved to Zyaba Bay in 1959. Timber and water are as central to its story as electricity: the reservoir changed workplaces and settlement locations.
Sukhoi and Osinovka were united under one settlement council in December 1960. Sukhoi later entered Bratsk’s city boundary. It remains a distinct residential-area name within the Right Bank, rather than another name for Gidrostroitel.
