The place and its history
Development of the Pyanovo site began in the late 1950s, providing homes for timber-complex and smelter workers and relocated residents. In 1963 early streets received names including Mira, Podbelskogo, Komsomolskaya, Yuzhnaya and Kirova.
The central residential area and Central administrative district are different scales. The former is the built-up Centre; the latter also includes neighbouring residential territories. Forest gaps and numbered microdistricts help explain its layout.
