The place and its history
Energetik began developing in 1959 for hydroelectric-station and construction-industry workers. Its position near the dam shaped work, journeys and everyday life as a distinct residential centre of Greater Bratsk.
It is also linked with higher education and the foundations of the later independent industrial institute. Energetik should be distinguished from the wider Padun District to which it belongs.
